Gymnastics Galore!

Reese and Nora

Reese kicked off her Level 3 Gymnastics season last weekend with a meet in Bozeman, MT. She had a great time and we really were touched at how much more confident she became as the day wore on. We learned a thing or two about Gymnastics meets.

10. Do not arrive until your event is scheduled to start (even when the time is posted, they are usually running behind)

9. Do not even think that a dinner at the Outback would be a good idea after 5 hrs in the car with a crabby 2 year old. Shoe throw across the restaurant is not one of the events he should be competing in.

8. Make sure to pack plenty of wine to consume once you arrive at your host home for the weekend. New Age is my new favorite (thank you Lisa!)

7. Gymnastics meets are not a great place to pick up men or women, or a great desination for a first date. :-)

6. Remember to go potty before the awards ceremony, if not, the announcer could step in an undesirable substance.

5. Make sure to bring along plenty of snacks and activities for a 2 year old as the day went from 10:30 AM to 7 PM.

We have had a great start to January Skiing, Skating and Sledding where we have found the snow. Trey skiied for his first time and had a great day. Reese and Kennedy tried out Skating and had a ball..We went sledding on Papa and Grandma's property in Boulder and Reese couldn't go fast enough. The month has been unusually warm and very little snow has arrived, but we have found a way to keep winter alive.

March Madness

Things are going well around the Ramey household. We have put many miles on the car over the past few weeks attending basketball tournaments galore. Kennedy and Kelson's teams played in Butte a few weeks ago and we were able to spend some time with Kelson's family in Boulder for the weekend. We keep saying we need to just go to Boulder and relax, instead of running into Butte for all of these games. Seems to be the case alot when we visit! Bonnie is a wonderful host and kept me sane throughout the weekend. She decided that she needed to organize me though as I had too many bags going on. So this weekend when they came up for the Flathead Hoopfest, she also brought along a massive bag and insisted upon organizing it all for me! What a difference it made....or maybe it was just having her here to keep me from veering off on a KDD moment. Spent 2 weekends ago in Spokane and watched Kelson's team do really well and were also able to go to the Whitworth playoff game. They are an amazing team to watch and it was so much fun to be in the fieldhouse with all of the crazies. We made our annual donation to the bookstore and outfitted the family for another year with our Whitworth gear. My one complaint was that they have improved SO much on the campus, it doesn't even look like the same place anymore....2-3 new residence halls, new administration building, Tennis courts, soccer fields, $31.7 million dollar science building going in right now...but they can't afford to update the gross yellow bathrooms in the Fieldhouse...:-(

Kids are great, recovered from their nasty sledding accident and hopefully Trey's forehead will not scar. I did receive a bill for $177 for washclothes that I used to clean Reese's head off with at the ER. RIDICULOUS. Reese is in the midst of her basketball and has 8 other little ones on her team. I am the coach much to my dismay and I have only lost a few nights sleep over not getting enough playing time to a few of the 4 year olds. It is stressful....I'm not kidding :-), and it doesn't help that I am married to a coach who makes sure I know what I failed to implement in my practice plans. I am signing her up for Spring Soccer, which is the sport that she really wants to play, should be fun and I don't know a thing, so forget the coaching...I will be in charge of treats!

Trey will be leaving his current daycare and will start daycare with Reese in a few weeks. It will be a big adjustment and I hope he is able to handle it. We did a trial run on President's Day and he was exhausted for two days afterwards. It will be so nice to just do one drop-off and pick-up though! He is also looking forward to his second birthday. I am not sure if it was the bump on the head or he is just growing up on us, but he is much more verbal and we can understand a lot more of what he is saying. It is so fun to watch them grow. Thinking of upgrading to a big boy bed....still debating on that one.

Kennedy is also growing up on us. She is quite social and has so many friends here, it has just been wonderful for her to pick right up where she left off when she visits. Her cell phone and texting keeps her updated on all of her friends in Kalispell, even when she is in Missoula with her mom. She knows more than I do about what's going on in Kalispell and who is who....and that is hard to do. She is doing really well at basketball this year and has improved so much. It has been fun to follow her little team around and see them be successful at many of these AAU tournaments. She has the biggest fan base at all of her games. Between her 2 sets of moms/dads/siblings, grandmas, grandpas, extended family she is very well supported! She starts Lady Osprey softball this month and games are just around the corner. Hopefully Spring will also be following, or we will have a COLD start to her season.

Kelson coached his way to 2nd place in the Butte MT Tournament, 3rd in Spokane tournament and 1st in the Flathead tournament this past weekend with his 8th grade boys. They are great kids and have such wonderful families. It has been so much fun to watch them improve as the season has progressed. My dad was able to watch the tournament this past weekend and it was so funny to watch him slide closer and closer to the huddle on the bleachers...pretty soon he was directly behind the bench. He LOVES basketball. Kelson says he would love for my dad to be his Assistant :-)!

We have been on the road the past few weekends watching a little basketball. Kennedy had a tournament last weekend in Missoula and we all went down on Friday night to be there for her early morning game. After a HOT dip in the 110 degree hottub and a COLD swim in the 60 degree pool, the kids slept wonderful. Watched Kennedy win with confidence in OT against a tough Kalispell-Glacier team and do really well against another Kalispell team as well. They ended up 3-0 on the day and we love Kennedy's new team. Positive influences, the girls are great and wonderful coaching. Can't say enough good things about it. She is determined to get better and is working on her game constantly, which makes her dad very proud. But we are more proud for the beautiful young lady that she has become inside and out. She is wonderful to her siblings and becoming a mature young lady and we love her very much!

What a wonderful and memorable Christmas we had this year. I told Kelson that this is the first Christmas that we have had since we have been married where the entire break we were HOME! It was wonderful and so nice to just relax and enjoy the kids. We had a busy week leading up to Christmas week with Reese's Sunday School program and her school program both. She was an angel and a Shepherd. It was so much fun to watch her and I think she enjoyed it as well. My mom directed the Christmas program for her daycare/school and she did a great job. The church was full and it was so neat to see so many little families who may not otherwise have a church hear the true meaning of Christmas from their Children. What a blessing.

Jodi and Ryan flew home on the 18th and Kelson and I took the kids for a quick trip to Spokane. Kelson was asked to coach an AAU team of 8th grade boys this year and we were headed over for the Santa Slammer. While we were there, we were able to have Christmas with his brother and family, Jason, Angie, Nick and Alex. Reese and Trey had a ball with the cousins and we were also able to watch Kelson's cousin Cole play basketball for Northwest Christian in Spokane and catch up with Randy and Lola, Kelson's aunt and uncle at the game as well as Chase his cousin who is playing basketball for Whitworth. We are hoping to get back to watch him play this season. We had a quick lunch with Kali, Kelson's cousin from Portland and her husband Taylor. It was a great time.

We spent the week of Christmas enjoying my sister, Ryan and sweet Emma Kate. We had a family ski day (first one in my memory) with my mom, dad, Jodi, Ryan, Kelson and I. Big Mountain was sunny and beautiful and we enjoyed every moment of God's creation. Christmas Eve, Emma Kate was baptized at church and Kelson and I got to stand up as Godparents with her. We miss her so much and she is growing up so fast! Christmas morning was a frenzy and spent at our house. Emma watched Reese and Trey pull open packages like mad. The kids had a blast and Kelson and I are feeling a little overwhelmed at the amount of toys we now need to find a home for in our house.

We were so happy to be able to get Kennedy on Tuesday the 28th and spend Christmas with her. I was thrilled that a few of the packages that I picked for her, she actually liked and will not be taking back! Score one for the mom of an almost teenager. We went night skiing and spent some time at our gym the Summit. She went to basketball practice with her dad and was invited to practice with a girls team from here. She had fun reconnecting with all of her friends in the neighborhood. We spent New Years with some good friends and Kennedy was able to bring a friend who was closer to her age than the oldest who was 6. We came home before the kids melted down and watched the ball drop at midnight.

Our tree is down and house is getting back in order. It is hard to believe that 2011 is already here. We took Kennedy back this morning and already her energy and enthusiasm for life. She is such a wonderful girl and growing up so fast. She is great sister to Reese and Trey and there definitely is a void when she is not here :( We get to see her play next weekend in a day tourney in Missoula and are looking forward to that!

What's new.....

It has been a crazy few months for the Ramey household. Between work, Grizzly games, chasing kids and travel, we haven't had alot of time to blog.

September started out beautifully. Gorgeous fall colors and leaves dropping from the trees. We finally pulled the boat from the water mid-September, although it is still (mid-October) skiiable in my opinion!

I had the opportunity to host a program in Ottawa, ON Canada for my company with customers from all over the world. We had 16 countries represented and approximately 80 people attending. I met so many people that I have been working with via email and phone but finally got to meet in person. The event was a success, but it was a crazy week behind the scenes. I attribute it to this picture.... A duck on the top of the water gliding along so smooth and peacefully, and the legs on the duck are going 100 mph under the water. That was me...the duck legs.

Kelson has been blessed with work and although it could be better, we are thankful for the work that we do have. He is playing city league basketball with his buddies and feeling quite old. I keep telling him that he needs to embrace the fact that he can still play (and play well), although he thinks he is slipping *!

He and I have not traveled just the two of us since we went to Seattle when pregnant with Trey. We had the opportunity and for Ryan and Kelson's birthday's to see a Dallas Cowboys/Tennessee Titans game. It was a BLAST! Ryan's Mom flew to Dallas to keep Emma Kate while we went to the game....how nice was that? Although Kelson's beloved Cowboys lost, and I paid $16 for a really good margarita and $40 for parking (through shopping quickly at the Gap), it was a great game experience! We were secretly cheering for our favorite NFL player, Marc Mariani for the Tennessee Titans and he showed those Cowboys how it was done! What a fun player to watch! It was such a good trip, and I miss my sister so much. We have so much fun together and I wish we lived closer. The kids were able to spend lots of time with the grandparents. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family to help out with that.

Kids are doing great and we get to see Kennedy this weekend for the Griz game! We are so excited to see her again! Happy Fall Y'all!

Hello all.

Hope you are all well. We have been enjoying a beautiful summer in the Flathead. Many evenings and weekends have been spent at the Lake and enjoying mom and dad's new cabin. Jodi, Ryan and Emma were here for almost 3 weeks and we were blessed to be able to all stay out at the lake a few of those weekends. We managed to squeeze in a hike, some waterskiing, Alpine Sliding at Big Mountain, a few long bike rides and lots of great family and friends who joined us at the lake. Cousins from Pullman managed to make the trek up to Kalispell as well as numerous other family members.

My mom's sister Genie took a small spill on her bicycle a few weeks ago and was pretty beat up. The mixed blessing of the crash, was that it prompted all of her kids to come home which resulted in a mini-family reunion. We haven't had all of my mom's side of the family at the lake since my wedding. It was good to see everyone and great to catch up.

Kennedy is here for about 6 weeks this summer and we managed to sneak off to Spokane to do a little shopping for back to school and my birthday. It was a great weekend and we had so much fun with our little family and were able to see Kelson's brother and Angie and their kids too. The kids had a ball in their pool and the huge awesome fort that Jason built for the boys.

The rest of the summer consists of the lake, Softball tryouts (didn't we just finish the softball season?) for Kennedy for next year, and Kelson's brother's family joining us for Labor Day at the lake. We are hoping that his mom and dad can also join us, but his dad has been battling a blood clot in his leg. He is on some travel restrictions, so we are praying for a speedy recovery. Then we are on to GRIZZLY FOOTBALL!!! We can't wait! Hope you all are doing well. Take care.

Reese and Trey were exhausted after the tough weekend at the lake. We put them to bed early and Trey dove for his crib. He was out quickly and we went to bed as well. We heard him start to cry and it just got louder. So we went down to see what the fuss was about. This is what we found....Reese! We put her back in bed and were not happy with her, but we had to document the event. It was pretty funny

Happy Fourth of July

Had a great time at the new cabin at the lake and stayed out there for 3 nights. It was wonderful and the kids had a blast. Had a lot of great company out and really got used to the cabin. Family members from all over the state were in attendance for the fireworks show (Kalispell, Dillon, Cut Bank, Helena) The weather did not cooperate, but we managed to ski in between bouts of rain. I am so sore todayI can barely lift my arms above my head. Can't wait to get back into Waterski shape! The fireworks display was the best I have ever seen. It was incredible and was a full hour and a half. We are so blessed to have my parent's let us stay at the cabin. We love the lake.

Softball Summer

We have been following Kennedy Hope around the state this summer watching her play for the Lady Osprey out of Missoula. We couldn't be prouder of her and she is doing great. All-Star/Travel teams are certainly different than when we used to compete. Gone are the days of the polyester uniform in a single color and now they have shorts, pants, 2-3 tops, sweatshirts, jackets, travel bags etc. The parents all have campers and camp at the various locations they are traveling to. It is crazy. We haven't quite gotten on the camping bandwagon, as most people know how much I love to camp :-) She is loving her team and loving the opportunity. She plays 2nd Base and Center Field mostly. I think she is one of the better players on the team. The kids do a great job as long as there is a park nearby. Trey has also discovered suckers. Very sticky, but he will sit still for one for about 5 whole minutes!

Hello all.

The Ramey's are doing well. We have been busy busy this month and it does not seem to be slowing down. Kelson has jobs going all over, and this keeps him on the road alot during the week. I have been gone for work and have started in a new role within my company. It is exciting and challenging and I am enjoying my new boss and co-workers. We have run a few races as a family, Bloomsday 1st weekend in May and the Great Northern 5k (Kids 1 mile sprint) the second weekend of May. We surprised Grandma Bonnie with a quick overnight to Boulder for Mother's day and then proceeded to celebrate with Grandma Patty at the lake roasting marshmallows.

Reese continues to go to school at Smith and Trey and the ladies are hanging out with Miss C (our daycare provider). He now has 3 girls and himself @ a home based daycare. He loves it and the only thing we would change is that he now can scream like a girl! Yikes! Kennedy turned the big 1-2 this past week and is getting (almost) straight A's in school. She started playing with a travel select softball team and Kelson is going to Great Falls this weekend to watch her play. The weather forecast does not look to cooperate with two littles in tow, so I will stay home and stay warm with them. She will be with us the 2nd half of the summer once softball and camps wind down, just in time for some good lake days. Reese is having her "friends" party on Saturday at Grandmas house. The theme is "tea party". Grandma has been having lots of fun with that one. She has invited 6 little girlfriends to her tea. I hope one shows up..i have yet to have an RSVP. Do people do that anymore?? Trey is walking and pointing at things. Making all sorts of jabber, but not many words yet. This will come as I am sure his sister is doing the talking for him to this point.

The lake is coming along and Kelson and my dad have been working on various projects out there. The patio has been stained, the dining room table has been built and finished, the dock has been rebuilt and finished and a patio up above has been made out of paver stones...All within a few weeks. So we are seeing some results. We have still yet to receive furniture out there, so we are hoping to get that all delivered in the next few weeks. In the meantime we have redone our entire Kitchen here at home, (pictures to follow when the furniture arrives), and planted 2 enormous trees in our backyard. Yep..18 feet each! The root balls were 300 lbs a piece. We had no neighbors behind us when we moved in and suddenly we have neighbors eating dinner with us. We love them, they are great, but we also don't want to see how much ketchup they put on their burger every night. Kidding of course, we are not that close, but it is too close for me!

Hello all.

Since we have returned from OKC, I have not been very good about posting anything. I was also reminded that I had not posted anything from Trey's 1st birthday. Out lives were a little hectic at that time,Trey getting tubes put into his ears, Family in town for Trey's birthday, Kennedy being here for her Spring Break, my Triathlon, Kelson joining the triathlon at the last minute...driving to Spokane and spending the night with the cousins before we headed out for Oklahoma City to see Jodi, Ryan and Emma Kate and the big Summit Classic Race the day we returned! Girls Trip To Meet Emma Kate

We are having a great time in Oklahoma City meeting Emma Kate. We took a road trip to Dallas for shopping. Ryan was a little outnumbered with five girls. Kennedy is great help with Emma and Reese wants a baby sister just like her. Missing Trey and Kelson! Wish they could have come, but Jodi and Ryan would have needed a bigger car.

Trey Surgery

Trey had surgery yesterday to insert tubes into his ears for recurring ear infections. It was scary for mom and dad to let him go under anesthesia, but we had just sat down in the waiting area and the doctor came out. He did wonderful. He had quite a bit of infection around his eardrums, so he is on an antibiotic for another 10 days and no getting his ears wet without his ear plugs in until the tubes come out. But he is already less congested and stuffy than he was before the surgery. I think this is what he definitely needed and I just wish they would/could have done it sooner. He is a precious little boy and so much fun! Birthday on Friday, who can believe he is already one? He has made the last year so much fun!

Wow, what a difference a year has made. My dad and our builders Mirm and Al have worked so hard on this cabin and it is finally looking complete. What a beautiful place with every attention to detail taken. We look forward to spending a lot of family time out here and building many more memories. Emma Kate arrived into the world this weekend and we are so excited for Jodi and Ryan. She is a beautiful baby and is very good. She was 6 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches long . Her toes alone are close to 2 inches long :-). We are so excited to go down to meet her! Mom and dad are there now!

February Update

Reese skied again this weekend. What a trooper. She did so awesome and conquered the "big hill" two more times. She is working on her pizza pies and her "Red Light, Green Light" stop and starting. She loves it and i am VERY sore from skiing with her between my legs down the mountain! OUCH!

Trey has been working on standing for the past few weeks, but refuses to walk. He has raw knees from all of the territory he is covering crawling, we hope he figures out this walking thing soon...or maybe not! He has 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on the bottom) and is so much fun. He loves wrestling with his sissy and has mastered the stairs and getting into the pantry and flour. He knows touchdown and raises his hands in the air. He is such a happy baby. He has been fighting ear infections since November and we are going in for Consult #2 with the ENT to see about tubes. We hope this will make him feel so much better and finally get over these colds, coughs and infections we have been to the Dr for.

Kennedy is coming up for a visit this weekend. She has a basketball tournament. Cousin Josh is also playing in it! We are beyond excited to have her. We haven't had her up since 2 days at Christmas and this past summer was the last time before that. She is growing like a weed and is excelling in school (Straight A's and 1 B), Band (She is in a 250 kid 6th Grade Marching Band and is the best clarinet player there ever was) and also is managing to stay busy in Basketball and Softball. She has siblings on both sides who miss her and fight over her. It is pretty funny. I can't believe she was younger than Reese when we got married. It is amazing how quickly time flies.

We are patiently waiting Miss Emma Kate's arrival and I speak to Jodi on a daily basis to check progress. I think she is tired of hearing from me! Ryan got home tonight and is home for a few days until she has her next appointment and finds out where she is at. She has 9 days left until her due date!! We cannot wait. I wish I could be there for the birth and blog for her like she did for me...I might just have to do it via webcam. We decided to spread out our visits to her so she doesn't get sick of us! We are going in April!

Phoenix Getaway

Kelson and I were able to get away to visit my grandpa in Arizona a few weeks ago and it was a much needed break for us. We managed to bring the rain with us, but it was alot better weather than we had here in Kalispell that is for sure. I swam every other day in the pool, it was 85 degrees in the water and 65 degrees in the air. Pretty nice swimming I would say, even if it was raining cats and dogs! Kelson made me RUN, we lifted weights in Grandpa's exercise facility close to his house. We were able to meet up with some old friends from Kalispell, Julie, John and baby Zack. Julie's parents live a few blocks away from Grandpa. What a small world! We rollerbladed, went golfing, traveled to Sedona and the most interesting town called Jerome. It is an old mining town that is now an art/tourist community that is literally built into the side of the mountain. Switchback roads are all that there are and there is literally one road on the mountainside that leads through all of these little shops and restaurants. We decided to go in February as Jodi is due in March and I knew our "babysitters" would be otherwise occupied. April was out as I am going to visit the new baby with the girls and Grandpa's hotel is quite full at that time. So February seemed like a perfect time to get away!

Grandpa was good, beat us in golf both times and took us to some fabulous little restaurants. I made a PAR without cheating...(picture attached) I got my margarita quota for the next year and grandpa was my designated driver! We need more good Mexican restaurants here in Kalispell. He is also now my Skyping Friend, so we webcam regularly.

My mom and dad watched the kids and by about night 2 they had them figured out. I think they were glad to see us arrive safely home. I had the great idea that we should use our Rapid Rewards tickets on Southwest, so we traveled back through Spokane. The $2.50 flight was worth it until we had to drive home the next morning. Oh well, it was a good trip and the kids were great for my parents and we had such a good time with Grandpa.

Next time we are going in April so we can be sure to include the sunshine and some adequate pool time!!

It has been a crazy few weeks for our family. We have had a lot going on and in many different directions. I was notified in December that I may have a chance to visit our Delhi India office in January. Many applications later, I had a ticket via London to Delhi. This is Katie, who has never traveled outside of the US except for Canada. I had to first fly to London and meet up with my boss who is from London and then we flew on to Delhi. I cannot believe the accomodations on those airlines. I had an entire bed to myself and my own personal TV and movies & television on demand. It was wonderful. I met many interesting people on the airplane and when I got to London, I was able to stay in the British Airways Lounge until my boss arrived. I really wanted to go sightsee, as I had almost 8 hours there, but a cab trip to one of the castles was $250. With the increased security, I just wasn't comfortable traipsing around London by myself. Instead I had a facial and massage at the spa, shopped and people watched.

India was fascinating. It is the biggest mix of Technology to no running water, Poverty to extreme wealth, and a huge mix of different cultures. The instant you walked off the plane, it was a different world. From the music playing in the airport to the smells. I am such a smells person, that I had to take a deep breath and get used to it...otherwise I might have gagged. The smell of food and curry and woodsmoke and dampness is everywhere. Woodsmoke from the many fires that surround every structure within Delhi. There are so many homeless people, it is truly sad. The out of doors is their outhouse and they live in tents made out of blue tarps. At every traffic stop or traffic jam, there are beggars tapping your windows for food. There was so much fog, you could not see your hand in front of your face. We did not have more than one hour of clear skies the entire week we were there.

The hotel was amazing and very very clean. Everyone says how cheap India is, but I found the hotel to be quite expensive. I think they have figured out where the Westerners stay and have marked up the prices incredibly. It was around $180 a night for hotel accomodations. This did not include breakfast or transportation. We had a driver who drove us to and from the office each day. He would pick us up around 8 am and drop us off around 7:30pm each night. In the meantime, he would wait all day by the office for us. I wondered why he didnt go run other errands or go home, but he did not leave us. Very interesting. Our office was beautiful and very well built. It is amazing that across the world, all of the offices match, wall color, decor etc.

The Indian people are so hospitable and went out of their way to make us comfortable and answer all of the questions we had. From the crazy crazy traffic to the marriage questions, they filled us in on all of the customs and cultural questions we had. The food was good, different but good. I had a hard time eating curry at every meal and was so glad French Toast was offered one morning for breakfast. I found the Chapata (tortilla like bread) and rice to be my staple. They refrigerated Diet Coke for me, as they drink it warm *(eww).

We got a lot of work done and were able to accomplish our entire to do list. We met with some very bright engineers and were very impressed with how smooth and efficient they are in their jobs.

Our flight home was delayed by 8.5 hours due to fog. The fog rolls in from the Himalayas and does not dissapate. So instead of leaving at 3:30 am, we did not leave until 12pm the next day. I was so glad to be able to leave and try to get home....except I missed my connection in London. So I sat at the British Airways counter forever trying to figure out a route to Helena, MT.....Believe me, it is very difficult. I ended up flying overnight to Vancouver, BC and stayed the night at the Fairmont there...wow, what a spectacular hotel and city. I can't wait to go back. Then flew Vancouver to Seattle, Seattle to Helena. I met Kelson and the kids and Bonnie and Dave there. Kennedy had a basketball tourney, so I was able to see 3 of her 4 games. She did GREAT, and I cannot believe how hard she has worked and how much her game has improved. I could not be prouder of her. She and I are getting excited for our girls trip to see Auntie Jodi and the new baby. She is growing up soooo fast. We miss her so much and are counting the days til she gets to come up again.

Pictures of India are attached. It was truly an amazing trip, but I am so glad to be home and with my family. We are truly blessed to live where we do and have clean drinking water right out of the tap, mountains and lakes and so few people compared to India.

Christmas Update

I have been really bad about posting lately. Sorry for the delay in the Christmas Update.

We had a fabulous Christmas both here in Kalispell and also in Boulder. Jodi and Ryan came home on the 20th and we had a wonderful shower for Baby Wardinsky and her beautiful mama. There were about 30 wonderful family members and friends who attended the little gathering. Jodi was blessed with oodles of gifts (ALL PINK) and some great shopping gift cards as well!

We celebrated Christmas with my family on the 21st and the kids were "well loved" as my mother says. Reese received a new bicycle with Snow White on it and was seen in her panties and Snow White cape riding around gramma's kitchen at break neck speed. Trey was spoiled with a grizzly football from grandpa and a choo choo train from Grandma and Grandpa. Kennedy was thrilled with her clothes and new watch and shopping money!

Boulder was so much fun and Kelson's family went out of their way to make Christmas so magical for the kids. They were all thoroughly spoiled and had so much fun sledding, picking out the Christmas tree, playing with their cousins and of course their Papa. Our car was stuffed to the max and the girls were in the back seat straddling packages and luggage. Grizzie had to stay at home as she would have been strapped to the roof. Jason and Angie and their boys came over from Spokane and Grandma Arla and Grandpa John came up from Cut Bank. We had a great time with Kelson's extended family (Aunt JoAnn, Uncle Jerry, cousin Alisha, Damon and their kids, Grandma Deannie) on Christmas Eve and attended the smallest little church you have ever seen. It was so special and we took up one entire side of the church with our family. Grandma Deannie made her special Hot Fudge and we enjoyed that through the entire week. Bonnie cooked and did dishes and cooked and did dishes. She kept our bellies full and the dishes clean. I think she was EXHAUSTED by the time we left. The kids were what made Christmas for us this year. They were so excited and had the most fun hanging out with each other and the wrapping paper and bows!

We came home and had to go back to work for New Year's week. Jodi and Ryan were still here and we had some memorable evenings with them and celebrated New Year's Eve with them and Ryan's parents and my grandpa and parents. It was fun and we played some games and Jodi made her delicious Chili. Lani brought Corn Bread and Honey from her sister's beehive. YUM! We have been on the road the past 3 weekends and have had a wonderful time. Lots of time spent with Kennedy and some good sporting events as well. Kennedy is now playing AAU basketball and is playing in quite a few tournaments. She was in Florence 2 weekends ago and in Missoula last weekend for a 3 on 3 tournament that Kelson coached her in. She was able to have some of her friends from Kalispell (Glacier) come up and play with her last weekend. It was a fun time and I think they were all wiped out after their 4th game on Sunday. Reese loved having some "girl time" with all of the girls and they all shared a room in our cute little suite at the Hawthorne Suites in Missoula. Here are some pictures. We are on the road again this weekend to head out for Thanksgiving. We are heading to OKC to see Jodi and Ryan. Kennedy is playing in Helena in another tournament this weekend so her Papa and Grandma Bonnie are going to watch her. Happy Thanksgiving to all of our family wherever you may be this year.

Halloween was a hit in our household and it lasted about 5 days. We had a party at the church where the kids got to dress up and play games on Wednesday, Friday Reese had a carnival at school and then we had trick or treating up in Whitefish. The downtown area of Whitefish opened up for trick or treaters this year a day early. They thought with the crowds that they get on Halloween of BIG kids, it might be best if the little ones celebrated a day early. It was great and Reese was only petrified of a few of the scarier costumes. Halloween day we went to Missoula to watch the Griz take on Weber State and then rushed home to let the kids once again trick or treat. John and Josh (Uncle and cousin) went out with Reese and Joleen and JonAlan (aunt and cousin) stayed home with me and Trey. We didn't get quite the turnout of trick or treaters, but it was a very fun week. Hope you all had fun. How did you celebrate?

Busy times in our household have kept me from blogging regularly. Sorry!!! Griz games are now in full swing as are gymnastics and both of us extremely busy at work. We get to see Kennedy alot in the fall as we go down quite a few weekends for Griz games. She is back in school and getting straight A's so far. We are so proud of her! She starts AAU basketball this weekend and is most excited for her new shoes...Can you tell we are related??? :-) Reese is ever so busy with her school and has a new teacher this year names Miss Denise. Reese loves her. She comes home every night with shoes and hair full of sand, so we know she has had a great day! Trey is getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Pretty soon I am not going to be able to lift him into the car. He weighs 19lbs, the same as what Reese did at 1 year and he just hit the 6 mo mark last weekend. WOW! We have plenty to be thankful for. He was born with 2 holes in his heart and Pulmonary valve Stenosis. We had a dr appt yesterday and both holes have closed on their own and the stenosis is not something the Dr. is too terribly concerned about. He says it is a mild case and wants to see him in 6 months, but nothing that is going to require corrective surgeries. Praise the Lord! The cabin at the lake is coming along and we (Kelson and my dad) are now painting. Next up comes the trim package and the wood ceiling install. Then the outside has to be painted as well. We are hoping to spend a few days over Christmas out there with Jodi, baby bump and Ryan and mom and dad. That's all for now!!!

Kelson, Kennedy and Reese spent the night at the cabin on Friday night. We hit Big Mountain to try out the Alpine Slide and check things out Friday morning. Had a great weekend at the lake and wedding. Kathie, Randy, Ryan and Shelly were here for their respective class reunions. Got to spend Saturday at the lake with them and then the wedding Saturday night. Our good friend Lindsay Hopkins married Brent Jacobson and they had a wonderful ceremony outside near Bigfork. It was a lot of fun and the kids were perfect. Huckleberry margaritas and cake were the highlight. YUM. Jodi was a bridesmaid and was beautiful in her pink dress. She and Ryan left yesterday to go home. She started 2 a days today for volleyball and starts school in 2 weeks. Sad to not have them here :-(.

Mom and dad celebrate 35 years together today as well. Cousin Kali celebrates her birthday today too! It is a very special day. Tomorrow Kelson and I celebrate 8 wonderful years together. He is my best friend and I love him very much.

People may call us crazy, but we really get along with Kennedy's mom and her step dad. They are great. It works out so well in fact that we all had family photos together. We have had a great week and have enjoyed having Auntie Jodi here. Had a wonderful dinner last night with good friends Jen and John Michael and my dad cooked for all of us. YUM! His tri-tip roast is the VERY best. Kelson and John Michael polished it off. We are blessed that work is busy for both of us and the kids are doing great. Reese decided to build herself a bed last night at Grandpa and Grandmas in the back yard. Jodi caught her in a few photos. Also pictures of Trey in his Whitworth hat. What a great weekend. Had so much fun just being at the lake on the fourth. Jodi is home and we love having her here. Sue came up from Dillon to spend the weekend and Genie joined us too. We played in the boat and watched Kennedy ski and worked on cleaning up the landscaping a bit more on the property. I have a huge blister to show for it. The kids were great and Kennedy deep water started on one ski for the first time! Her grandpa was driving the boat when she did it. We watched a HUGE fireworks show on the evening of the fourth. It was incredible. The cabin is coming along. Walls are poured and the retaining walls along the shoreline are up.

May/June Update

I have been really bad about posting lately. It has been kind of crazy. I thought I was really busy with one little one under foot, two is insane. I am now back to work and it is going okay. The mom/work balance just keeps getting trickier. Just trying to get them ready every morning for 2 different schools has been a little trying. I am able to get them there by around 8:15, but that is hustling and Reese's pretty curls in a messy bun EVERY day now. :-)

May/June update.
1. Reese's birthday party. Girls only tea/birthday party at Kris' Tea Cottage in the old central school downtown. SO much fun and Reese had a ball.

2. Memorial Day weekend/Reese's Birthday party continued....Kennedy and Kelson's family came up for a visit. His mom, dad, brother, Ang and their two boys, and grandparents for the weekend. It was great to host them and so nice that we have a house big enough for everyone to stay. The kids had a ball and we went hiking, fishing, played outside a ton, had a huge bonfire at John's and a 35 person birthday party for Reese on Saturday.

3. Trey's baptism. Sunday we had a baptism for Trey and a brunch afterwards. Again the kids played outside and had a great time. The weather was the best it has ever been when Dave and Bonnie have come up.

4. Oklahoma Trip. Reese has been waiting and waiting to go to Oklahoma to see Jodi (when she can remember), we have been there 2x, but she does not remember either trip... We went to the zoo, the tea cottage down there, played a bunch with Jodi's great neighbors, visited multiple parks and Jodi's neighborhood pool. The highlight of the trip was watching Ryan and Reese catching fireflies in the dark. It was just precious. The trip went too fast, but we had a great time and I think Jodi and Ryan were WIPED out by the time we left.

5. Katie back to work. I started back to work on Monday, June 12th and it has been okay so far. My co-workers (all over the world) have been very supportive and it has been a good first week back. Trey is with a wonderful babysitter in her home during the day. She is wonderful with him and has his clothes washed and put back in his bag before I even get there in the evenings. He gets lots of snuggle time and seems to be adjusting. Mom is still dealing with the changes.

6. Kennedy's visits. Kennedy is now 11!!! and will be with us quite a bit this summer (6 weeks). She has juggled her visits with us into her busy schedule. She has 3 different basketball camps this summer as well as 3 separate 3 on 3 tournaments. Kelson is coaching her in one this weekend in Missoula, and coaching/playing in the Spokane Hoopfest. I am the stand in coach if he has a game at the same time. He will be playing with his cousin Chase Ramey in Spokane, who is going to Whitworth next year to play ball, Taylor Martin, George Fox Basketball alum and Kali's wonderful husband out of Oregon, and Jason, Kelson's brother out of Spokane. Should be a fun time and hopefully the "family league" is much more tame for the old guys (Kelson and Jason). :-)

7. Jodi is HOME. Jodi will be home for the month of July and I am SO looking forward to lake time(building the cabin) and spending time with her. She is in Chicago this week scouting with Ryan and will be turning the big 29 on Sunday. She flies home next Friday!!!

Had a great weekend in Spokane. Met up with Kelly, Sam, Dawn, Suzanne and Tonya. We were all roommates at Whitworth throughout the years. Lots of great memories. The roommates had pedicures Saturday morning, spent time on the patio at the new Twigs on the north side, shopped and shopped and had a nice healthy :-) dinner of chips, guacamole, shrimp, cheese, and crackers. Sam hosted it at her house and it was really alot of fun. We found out Dawn is pregnant with #3 and we are all pulling for a little girl!

Kelson was super dad and had both kids here at home. He did great with Reese and Trey. They were extremely busy. Reese got to go hiking yesterday morning, went to Snappy's to feed the fish and then got to go fishing with her dad and new princess fishing pole. She had a slumber party with grandpa and grandma and went to the lake and threw rocks!! Daddy took her to the track today and we had a picnic in the park tonight and then planted our strawberries! Trey is continuing to grow and he is starting to smile and coo. His hair is still crazy and he is only waking up once a night. Praise the Lord. The sun is out and we are so excited for summer. We are beyond blessed with our wonderful kids.

What a memorable weekend. We spent the weekend in Spokane with Kathie and Randy and celebrated Kennedy's 11th birthday and ran Bloomsday. Hit Riverfront Park for the carousel and the Radio Flyer Slide. Celebrated Kennedy's birthday at Red Robin and thoroughly embarassed her. She had to stand on a chair as they sang to her. I told her it is my job as her mom to do so at least once a year. KEnnedy got to shop her heart out on Saturday. It is wierd, I always wondered how my mom could stand to go and watch us girls shop and not buy anything. I have more fun dressing the girls than I will ever have dressing myself again. Please warn me before you nominate me for "What Not to Wear" :-)

Reese played with her cousin's Nick and Alex and had a great time until Saturday afternoon when she fell off the mini Fisher Price 4 wheeler and dislocated (sublexed) her elbow. We thought it was broken and ended up in the Holy Family ER. She scored a Barbie out of the deal for being so brave and is still a little weak on that side, but doing okay.

Bloomsday was great. I am so proud of my family. Kennedy and Kelson improved their time by 8 minutes over last years' time. They ran Bloomsday in 1hr 13 min. My mom also ran the race and did wonderful. She ran it in an hour 24 minutes. Genie ran as well and had a great time again. Reese, Trey and I went down and watched all of the finishers. Way to go family!!

We had a great weekend. Took Reese swimming, Kelson started the install on his new hoop (1200 lbs of concrete) to set the base, he went paintballing with JonAlan, Josh and John, we went to church, worked out and going to a 2nd birthday party for Ethan tonight. Trey is doing great. He is a month old today. He is now cooing a little and can lay and look around for more than 5 minutes without crying. Has been laying here, alert and looking around for the past hour. I officially think I saw a smile out of him at Granny Lanny (LeeAnn) on Friday.

Today we participated in the Summit 5k run. My mom, dad, aunt Genie, Kelly, Quinn, Reese, Trey and I participated. Kelly and Genie ran, while the rest of us walked the course. What a wonderful Easter week. Reese dyed Easter eggs with her Grandpa and Grandma and had a great time finding Easter Eggs with her cousins. We made a trip to Cut Bank to see Kelson's Grandparent and parents for an "early" Easter dinner on Saturday. We then went to church Sunday morning, had a brunch and egg hunt at the Petesch house, followed by a competitive game of kickball with the whole family before dinner at Grandpa Mick and Grandma Patty's house. Grandpa outdid himself with a wonderful ham and prime rib. It was sooo good. We missed Jodi and Ryan this year, they were in St. Louis "scouting". Hope you all had a blessed Easter and remember what it is truly all about. He is Risen indeed.

You don't realize how big your 2 1/2 year old is until you have a new little one. They just seem so big to you and so grown up after you bring the new baby home. Reese is such a great help and so excited that we get to "keep" the baby. She helps with diapering and binkie patrol mostly. It will be so fun to watch the two of them grow up together. We are truly blessed.

Baby Trey is doing great. Grandma Bonnie and Papa Dave are here from Boulder and if I keep eating this way, I am going to continue to look pregnant! Bonnie has been a great help with the cooking/cleaning and Dave has built me a new platform and shelves in the garage for my refrigerator and storage. It looks beautiful. I am finally starting to feel better. I have a horrible sinus infection, I finally got antibiotics yesterday. Pray the baby tolerates them too. Hope you all are well. Updated photos attached.

Sorry, the second child does not always get less attention, but we have had a busy weekend with lots of company. Updated Baby Trey pics here. Kennedy is now here and helping a ton with keeping Reese busy and helping out with the new baby. Reese is adjusting and "helping" as much as a 2 year old can. She brings him binkies and diapers quite frequently. Kelson's mom is a God-send and is helping out with all of the household chores and keeping Kelson fed. I think she is glad she has a day job. I am getting quite a bit of rest thanks to his folks' help and hopefully baby has another good night. Thanks for checking in!

Trey had a great night. He had a few visitors, getting to meet his big sister for the first time. She wasn't quite sure what to think. His other big Sis comes up this weekend to meet him for the first time, we can't wait. He has proven to be a pretty relaxed and mellow baby so far. He slept most of it and got up to eat a few times. Spent the first part of the night in the nursery as mom took some Ambien and dad got some much needed rest. They brought him in around 2 and he slept in our room until the Pediatrician came in this morning. Dr. Anderson declared him in good health and told mom no kisses on Trey's face til my cold goes away. Had horrible hospital breakfast and should have gone to Great Harvest for Cinnamon Rolls and juice. Baby is asleep in daddy's arms and is so so sweet. We are so blessed with a healthy and happy little boy. Going home tonight.

Ok, we made it through some major contractions. Katie was a superstar and gutted it out big time. Life is good now - she's got that epideral! Anyways, I think this is the calm before the storm so we are taking a breather now. The nurse is guessing 6:45 pm. I'm thinking more like 9:30 pm. Who knows - it's up to Trey now! Love all and thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

P.S. Dad hasn't passed out yet either!

We are attempting to stay active and force this little guy out of his too comfortable setting. We've had some visitors (Kari and Kelly) to give Katie some additional encouragement. At this point, I think Katie is plenty ready - I wish Trey would get on board with this birthing thing. For all you thinking that babies come when they want to - QUIET! Love you all.

Just started the pitocin - again! Doc is estimating a 6:00 pm delivery. I'm not personally gonna hold my breath... Anyways, it's go time. Katie is psyched up and mentally prepared. Her faithful coach is here ready, willing and able to do whatever it takes. We can't wait to meet Trey Kelson Ramey. We are checked in and in a way bigger room. They have already applied the Cervadil and we are waiting for that to kick in. They will give me Pitocin in the morning to start contractions again. Kelson took Reese to gymnastics tonight, we figured she should keep up with her normal routine. She is so excited for her newest sibling. Thanks for checking in!

Baby Update

For those of you checking to see if baby Ramey has decided to make his entrance, the answer is still no. But after yesterday's Dr. Appt, we do have an update. I will go in at 4 pm tonight and they will re-start the induction process. They will be using a different drug today/tonight and start the Pitocin again in the morning. Hopefully, this will speed up the process and we can finally meet our little guy. I am cleaning the house as we speak, hoping this will help the process progress. Will keep you posted. So we are hoping for a March 26th, 2009 birthday.

Sorry Jules, one day shy of yours! Please pray for me and the baby and a smooth induction (this time).

For those who are checking, no, no baby yet. We are trying to be patient and waiting for him to make up his mind. I have been given a lot of grief over this name thing with this baby (we are down to 3 names....). Everyone is telling me that if I would just give him a name, maybe he would be more willing to make some progress. You will know when I know what the final name is going to be!

On a side note, Jodi headed home to Edmond, OK after being here for a week. She was a wonderful help and Reese and I miss her dearly. She had me out jogging last week, doing lunges, and eating mexican. (Doesn't work apparently). She left yesterday afternoon and got stuck in Minneapolis for 5 hours, almost landed at home in OKC last night after midnight and they diverted the plane to Arkansas due to tornado activity on the ground. Ryan called my parents from the airport, because it said the plane had landed on the arrivals gate and she didn't show up. She ended up spending the night in an airport in Arkansas and the airline finally got them a bus this morning from Arkansas to OKC. Poor thing is exhausted. Thank you Jodi for all of your help and posting our first attempt at having baby Ramey. Have an appt this morning and will update when we know more. Oh and she had a very succesful trip at jeans shopping...Ended up taking 4 pair home....was very happy with what she ended up with. To have long skinny legs...:-)

We are just waiting for the doctor or nurse to come in and tell us what to do next. It's been about 2 hours. Unfortunately Kate might be heading home tonight. Jean shopping was successful! I even did a fashion show for Katie in the hospital room which cheered her up a bit. Reese has been taking pictures of everyone and throwing coins in the fountain in the lobby.

Thanks for the toast Auntie Genie! It gave Katie a laugh.

Reese came up to see her momma. She was a little unsure about things at first. She didn't want to touch her mom, but now she took over her bed and her cup. Contractions stopped. I might not get to see this baby. :(

I have been reprimanded for not keeping up the last few hours. The truth is I got a little bored and went jean shopping. :) I'm a bad sister. Katie has been taken off the pitocin because nothing is happening. They are going to let her eat and try again later on. She has lots of cravings so we're making a DQ run.

Good job on your basketball Kennedy! We are proud of you!

Chad...Kelson says "are you kidding me when you've won two games in about 20 years???" :) I will say in your defense Chad that Kelson spent many many hours on his bracket and it is definitely busted!

Slowing Down A Bit

They are increasing the pitocin every 30 minutes, but not much is happening. The doc said she might not be ready, and they might have to evaluate the situation again once pitocin is maxed out. Katie is not happy!! She said they would have to cut the baby out before she would go home, come back and go through this again. :)
